“Now the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace.” Romans 8:6

To be spiritually minded is the exact opposite of how our human nature is wired. We want what we see, what we desire, what someone else has. We compare, we sulk, we want to be seen, we focus on getting more of something or getting ahead in life, or, maybe we just want to take matters into our own hands and help God out. 😳

But if we can just be SPIRITUALLY MINDED. Oh how that changes everything. Our perspective can be corrected. If only we can see life through the eyes of Christ!🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

When we are spiritually minded we are thinking about the unseen things in the world such as pleasing Christ, sharing the gospel, or helping those around us. It is taking our eyes OFF SELF. It flips everything over and causes us to look not at the immediate or the temporal, but to go way deeper with the Lord and allow for the implementation of His plans for us. Phil. 2:3-4 says, “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests, but each of you to the interests of the others.”

Being spiritually minded takes the pressure off of us, as we are trusting the Lord for His very best in our life. It involves waiting upon Him for the unseen and the unknown. Phil. 4:6-7 says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Phil. 2:13 says, “For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.” So we can be confident that we are exactly where He would have us, even if it isn’t what we thought we wanted.

Shifting our focus from having an attitude, to GRATITUDE is huge. Don’t get to have something right now? Praise God! It’s for our best! He is protecting us. He knows what we can handle and when. Feel you’re not where you should be in life? Keep that focus on the Lord. God’s growing you! Remember, Jesus was about 30 years old, before even starting His ministry. God’s timing is everything. Feeling impatient, like you have waited long enough on God and maybe He needs some help? Don’t forget how in Genesis 16:1-6 we see Abraham and Sarah trying to make God’s promise happen in their own timing. A good reminder for us not to meddle, but to hold steady and wait for God’s BEST.💯♥️🙏🏻

How do we walk in peace when life can be such a rollercoaster? We need to fully trust in the Lord, laying down our plans and trusting in His. Matthew 6:33 says, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” If we are earnestly and wholeheartedly seeking Jesus first in our lives, He is going to orchestrate our lives and provide for all our needs. The key is aligning our heart with His and being able to trust that He knows what is needed, or not, for us. Romans 12:2 tells us, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

I don’t know about you, but I definitely want the mind of the Spirit, which is life and peace! 🙏🏻🙌🏻💯♥️ I find such comfort in knowing that no matter what, God has us when we are trusting in Him and not ourselves, or the ways of the world. His ways can be unconventional or maybe not even make sense to us. BUT GOD. HE is always Faithful. And, when we trust in Him by putting all our hope in Him, HE WILL DO AMAZING THINGS, more that we could have ever hoped for because, GOD’S WAYS ARE THE BEST!!! “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.” Ecc. 3:11 🙏🏻💯♥️🙌🏻
